Seagull Advertising appoints Zahid Gawandi as COO

Seagull Advertising has appointed Zahid Gawandi as the agency’s Chief Operating Officer.  Gawandi has a breadth of experience in advertising both on the agency side as well as on the client side, including strategic planning, product launches, consumer research, brand architecture and new business pitches.

Sameer Desai MD, Seagull Advertising said, “The agency “is strategically positioned for significant growth. Zahid has joined the team at a time, where thoughtful planning and ideas implementation are necessary to fully leverage the creative and operational capabilities of Team Seagull. His wealth of knowledge and experience in the advertising industry across clients in various categories will serve as an incredible asset to the agency while also maximizing value for our clients.”

Prior to joining Seagull, Gawandi served as Chief Marketing Officer at Destimoney. For the most part of his career, Gawandi filled numerous senior executive positions with companies like Reliance & Spice and ad agencies like Dentsu & Hakuhodo Percept. He was chosen for the ‘Corporate Communication Leadership Award’ by Lokmat Banking, Financial Services & Insurance Awards in June, 2014.

Gawandi said, “I am thrilled to join the dynamic team at Seagull. Seagull is one of the few smart creative agencies, solely dedicated to supporting client ROI by their effective no-nonsense advertising approach, which represents a critical choice in a country like India where every advertising buck is accounted for by the clients. Seagull has widely and successfully deployed its Wings for Profit brand process to new customers over the past five years. This momentum is exciting and I look forward to ensuring that the team and agency have the necessary processes and resources in place to continue to deliver the most cutting edge and smart creative solutions for clients. By the end of year 2016, I am looking at Seagull hitting Rs 60 crore mark.”

At Seagull, Gawandi will be responsible for ensuring a national footprint for the agency, new client acquisition, managing day-to-day operations by planning, prioritizing, and directing resources to enhance both internal and customer-facing operational processes.  He will be charged with promoting a culture of high-performance and continuous creative improvement while maximizing the value for the agency and its clients.
