Sanjay Shukla takes on additional responsibility at Percept

Sanjay Shukla, CEO, Percept Activ has been given the additional responsibility of managing Percept Talent and Percept Entertainment with effect from October 7, 2013.

Shukla currently heads Percept Activ, which is focused on brand activation projects and functions in the domain of below-the-line brand communication activities, encompassing promotional and event based activation.

In his new elevated role, Shukla will spearhead a team of over 200 people pan-India and be responsible for providing strategic direction, creating opportunities for integration, scaling up the existing businesses for talents and clients, new business development, and paving the roadmap for the overall businesses of Percept Activ, Percept Talent and Percept Entertainment.

Commenting on his on his new portfolio, Shukla said, “Percept was the visionaries and pioneers of the talent management and experiential marketing business in India, and the equity commanded by these businesses pan-India and overseas is unparalleled. I look forward to synergising our strengths and taking these brands to new heights. We are a very young and vibrant team full of zeal and new ideas, and will no doubt bring exceptional value to both these businesses going forward.”

Percept Talent offers a 360-degree solution for talents from the entertainment, sports and fashion arenas, with services spanning the creation and servicing of the talent inclusive of training, managing the status and audience appeal. The talent management business was launched at Percept over 15 years ago and through the years has handled a wide repertoire of talent in the fields of motion pictures, television, fashion, music, sports and branded entertainment. These included the World Cup 1983 Cricket Team, the Australian Team, 11 of the 12 cricketers in the Indian cricket team, and Bollywood actors, including Amitabh Bachchan, Karan Johar, Rani Mukerji, Shah Rukh Khan, Priyanka Chopra, Preity Zinta, Hrithik Roshan and Kareena Kapoor.

Over the past year, Percept Talent signed on a spree of talents from various genres ranging from Bollywood to wrestling to squash, including Pooja Batra, professional wrestler Sangram Singh, squash player Joshna Chinappa and Payal Rohatgi.

Percept Entertainment is focused on the core areas of event marketing and management with a special focus on the entertainment needs of individuals and corporates. Some of the events executed by Percept Entertainment over the past 16 years include the AR Rahman Concert, Green Peace Concert, Mukti AIDS Concert, Nokia New Year’s Eve Concert, Mrs World Contest, Mrs India Contest, Stardust Millennium Awards, Indian Film Festival, Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week, the Sahara Wedding, the Fabiani Wedding in Monaco, and the Hero Motocorp Brand Identity launch at the O2 arena in London.
