Sahara Computers selects INC Communication and Starcom for Rs 15 crore ad spend

Sahara Computers & Electronics which is making an entry in the Indian market has completed the pitch process for its advertising partners. While the creative agency, INC Communication, and the PR agency, TBWA\India, are already on board, the media agency, Starcom, has still to be signed on. The ad spend is in the vicinity of Rs 15 crore.

Said Santosh Choubey, Marketing and Communication Manager, Sahara Computers, “We are almost ready to sign the contract with Starcom as well. There are just some last-minute details that have to be clinched. However, INC Communications and TBWA\India are on.”

The other agencies in the fray for the creative pitch included Leo Burnett, Saatchi & Saatchi and Percept. Details of the other agencies in the media pitch were not available at the time of filing this report.

Sahara Computers and Electronics is a joint venture between Sahara India Parivaar and Sahara Computers PTY Ltd. of South Africa. The venture is making its foray in India now and the launch campaign is set to break on June 4, 2005.

Choubey informed that the launch would be in two phases. The first phase would concentrate on the north region with the exception of Chattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh. In the second phase, which will be around July period, the company’s communication would go pan India.
