RmKV Silks scouts for creative agency in Chennai

South India based sari brand RmKV Silks is on the lookout for a creative agency. The pitch process is currently underway in Chennai. A senior official from RmKV has confirmed the news to exchange4media.

It is learnt that the first round of the pitch process took place recently, where six small-sized agencies were invited to make their presentations. Three agencies have been shortlisted for the second round, which is slated to take place next week.

Consumer Connect Communications is the media agency for RmKV and has been handling the account for the past five years.

For the last two to three years, RmKV has been working with small agencies on a project basis. The last agency that worked on a project basis for a television campaign was Thotmos Consulting, which had worked on a wedding campaign titled ‘Ponnu Entha Ooru’ (Which state/ place is the girl from). Little Things That Work, a Chennai-based agency worked on the last print campaign for the brand for last year’s festive season.

Meanwhile, Subrata Bhowmick, a well-known graphic designer from Ahmedabad, has been working on almost all print campaigns of RmKV for years now.

The last full-time creative agency on board was JWT. Other creative agencies that have worked for the brand include Grey, Fifth Estate and Mudra.

Founded in 1924, RmKV is mainly known for its wedding silks and unique silk saris. Today, the brand has showrooms across Chennai, Coimbatore, Tirunelveli and Bangalore.
