RK Swamy/BBDO in an overdrive. Targets substantial growth

RK Swamy/BBDO is in an overdrive these days. The agency has added senior advertising professionals; Sunil Gupta to beef up its presence in North and East and Deepa Kakkar to add to its creative strengths. The newly appointed COO, Sunil Gupta, has set a tough task for himself. He believes that his agency's north and east offices can double their existing billings.

Says Sunil Gupta, "In the last two years the agency has done good. It is growing at the rate of 20-25%, which is damn good. I intend to double the current size in a year." He further adds, "As we sit today, we are going to double our current client size. We will do good work and more business will come as a result. And I am confident of that."

Seated confidently at his first floor office in Delhi, Gupta is conscious about each passing minute. And why not? He has an agenda.

On being asked about the buzz that he and his agency are wooing Pepsi, he says, "There is nothing of this kind. But yes, we would be glad to work with BBDO aligned clients and they certainly are our targets". Internationally, Pepsi is one of the key BBDO clients. The other BBDO clients include Gillete, Henkel, Visa, Duracell and Pizza Hut.

Three days after Gupta's joining RK Swamy/ BBDO, Deepa kakkar, also an ex-HTA, moved in as Executive National Creative Director. Kakkar is looking over the company's creative products. Besides these senior level joining in the agency and are more recruitments that are taking place. "We are in the process of beefing up our operations and the appointments taking place in the organization is a part of the companies' overall strategy", adds Gupta.
