: RK Swamy BBDO bags Rs 10-cr Suguna Poultry account

RK Swamy BBDO is on quite a roll. The agency has just won the Udumalpet-based Suguna Poultry Group account following a multi-agency pitch that also involved O&M, Contract and Orchard. The account size is pegged upwards of Rs 10 crore. Media Direction, the media arm of RK Swamy, will handle the media responsibilities.

RK Swamy BBDO was recently empanelled for LIC’s creative and media duties. The agency has also added the K Raheja Universal and Times Rewards accounts to its kitty.

Confirming the development, Dr Ravindran, General Manager-Marketing, Suguna Poultry Group, said that until recently different agencies were handling the account from different places such as Coimbatore and Bangalore. “Now, we have decided to go with one agency and selected RK Swamy BBDO based on their presentation and their experience in handling this business.”

The agency had handled some work for the group earlier.

Started in 1984, Suguna Poultry is one of the leading poultry companies in the country with a steadily increasing global presence. Its turnover exceeded Rs 14 billion in 2006-07. The group’s pioneering efforts in contract farming have helped thousands of farmers grow along with the company. Suguna Poultry currently operates in 10 states. It also exports value-added processed chicken to Japan.
