Rewind 2010: The top categories in TV, print and radio

exchange4media Group, in association with AdEx India, a division of TAM Media Research, brings the top categories of 2010 in television, print and radio as part of the ‘Rewind 2010’ special coverage. The data is for the period January-November 2010.

Top Categories – Television:

Toilet soaps led among the top categories advertised on television in 2010 with a share of 4 per cent. Washing power/ liquids, cellular phone service, shampoos and social advertisements followed with 3 per cent share. In 2009, toilet soaps, cellular phone service and social advertisements led the field with 4 per cent share.

Top Categories – Print:

In print, the top category advertised in 2010 was educational institutions, the same as 2009. However, while the share was 11 per cent in 2009, it fell to 9 per cent in 2010. Social advertisements followed with a share of 7 per cent.

Top Categories – Radio:

Cellular phone service was the top advertised category in radio in 2010 with a share of 7 per cent, the same as in 2009. Independent retailers and properties/ real estates followed with 6 per cent share each.
