Rediffusion Y&R new hires; leadership ops restructured

Strengthening its strategic leadership, Rediffusion Y&R has made two key appointments to lead the Mumbai and Southern operations. The agency has appointed Amitava Sinha, COO, East & South, while Neville Medhora has been promoted as Vice President, Mumbai.

Sinha’s elevation is a key strategic change leading to the restructuring of the operations of Rediffusion Y&R in South and East. Under his unified command, the agency will aim to deliver better synergies to the brands that it works on through a larger talent pool and enhanced collaboration between offices.

Commenting on the restructuring, D Rajappa, President, Rediffusion Y&R, said, “We at Rediffusion Y&R have always believed in meritocracy, entrepreneurial drive and providing an empowering environment for performers. Amitava, Neville and Paddy have established on outstanding track record in their previous roles and hence, this move reiterates yet again our agency’s beliefs and philosophy. I wish them the very best and am confident they will continue to deliver beyond expectations.”

On his new role, Sinha said, “I have been a part of the growth story for East at Rediffusion. I am very excited about the opportunities that the Southern market presents with respect to the multitude of brands that we can work on. I am confident of leveraging the synergies of our talent pool across offices through enhanced collaboration while working very closely with Rajappa.”

Medhora said, “Rediffusion Y&R Mumbai has an eclectic mix of clientele where some great work has been delivered. I will continue to focus on the mandate of driving growth, quality of work and collaborating across offices to deliver world-class communication solutions for our client brands.”

Sinha has over 25 years of experience in marketing and advertising, having worked on several large brands such as Gold Flake, Wills, Scissors , Eveready, Harpic, Cherry Blossom, Bata, Tata Steel, Berger Paints, Spencer’s, Ananda Bazar Patrika and IFB, to name a few. He had joined Rediffusion Y& R in October 2003 as Head of the Kolkata operations and subsequently assumed a group role.

Medhora made Rediffusion Y&R his home around three years ago. As Head of the Client Servicing function in Rediffusion Y&R Mumbai, he has played a very significant role in building some of the marquee brands in Mumbai as also forging strong client partnerships. He has 15 years of experience working on various brands like Tata Motors, Taj Group of Hotels, Kingfisher Airlines, Rasna, Orra, Sugarfree, Bombay Realty, Bank of India, Kaya, Adidas, Pedigree, Michelin, Moser Baer, and National Geographic, among others.

N Padmakumar, National Creative Director, will lead the creative forces at Rediffusion, having taken on the role in December 2010.
