Rediffusion Y&R appoints Sita Narayanswamy as Head of Operations in Mumbai

Rediffusion Y&R has announced the appointment of Sita Narayanswamy as Head of Operations, Mumbai. She replaces Uttio Majumdar, who moves to a career in marketing.

Commenting on the appointment, Dhunji S Wadia, President, Rediffusion Y&R said, “I’ve known Sita for a long time, having worked with her at J Walter Thompson. Sita’s enormous talent and instincts make her a valued partner to clients and an inspiration to all who work with her. It’s great to have her return to advertising with the experience she has gained from marketing as well as setting up new global enterprises. She will be a great resource for all of us.”

Wadia added: “Uttio Majumdar, who moves to a career in marketing, played an important role in making our company robust and solid. I thank him for all his help and support.”

Narayanswamy said of her appointment, “I am excited about joining Rediffusion Y&R, which has a huge legacy of producing strategically sound yet outstanding creative work for its clients.  The agency team is extremely talented and passionate about building great brands. Narayanswamy is an alumnus of The Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies and has a Fellowship in Leadership and Globalisation from the London School of Economics.  She has over two decades of experience in marketing, advertising as well as setting up new global enterprises.

Narayanswamy started her career at J Walter Thompson, where she went on to become Vice President and Area Director, Asia Pacific Region. She handled large and complex multi-national accounts across China, Indonesia, Thailand, and Singapore and is the person behind many big campaigns for Pepsi, Nestle, Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd, Pond's Dreamflower range, Close Up, Ceat Tyres, Philips Lighting, and Godrej-GE Appliances.

Subsequently she joined Zee Entertainment Enterprises as Sr Vice President, Head of Network Marketing, leading the marketing and communication for all channels of the Zee network as well as for the corporate brand.  She continued in her role with UTV Group as Marketing Head, Bindaas Channels. She was also the Chief Marketing Officer for Kidzania Imagination & Entertainment, where she prepared the groundwork for the successful launch of the international concept into the Indian market.

In her free time, Narayanswamy loves to write, paint, cook, run and listen to music. She is also involved in non-profit work for children.
