R Balki moves on from Mullen Lowe Lintas Group as Chairman

R Balki has moved from the Mullen Lowe Lintas Group as Chairman.

Balki has over 25 years of communication experience, and  has been responsible for the creation of some iconic ad campaigns for Unilever, Idea Cellular, Tata Tea, ICICI Prudential, Axis Bank, Tanishq, Fastrack, Britannia, Havells, Micromax, Saint Gobain, Maruti, Hero Motocorp, Bajaj Auto and many other clients of Lowe Lintas.

He also made his directorial debut with the much acclaimed Cheeni Kum featuring Amitabh Bachchan and Tabu. He followed it up with the National Award-winning film Paa, which also starred Amitabh Bachchan with Abhishek Bachchan and Vidya Balan and then made his debut as a Producer with English Vinglish

Joseph George, Group CEO, MullenLowe Lintas Group, who has worked closely with Balki through all of the 22 years says, “It is impossible and even foolish to try and replace someone like Balki; so we planned the transition differently. As early as July 2015, we put in place, a management structure that would help us move forward as an organisation, while also maximizing the potential and aspirations of great individuals we have. Balki and I have tried to think this through every step of the way, and it’s reached a place where we feel the agency is ready for today, and tomorrow.”.
