HTA can wait! That's what the man behind the latest string of successful Coke, Bacardi and Chlormint commercials had to say. Speaking with exchange4media, Prasoon Joshi, National Creative Director of McCann-Erickson scotched the rumors, based on the stories in a section of press.
"There is no truth in my going to JWT. I am not at all thinking about the proposal of joining JWT", emphasized Joshi. Though he acknowledged that JWT approached him and it is looking for a creative head. "Yes. People from JWT met me but it was a normal or rather very informal meeting. And it is obvious that JWT has a vacancy for a creative head but as far as I am concerned, I am not going anywhere. I am with McCann and will continue with McCann."
One of the leading daily yesterday reported that Mike Khanna and Rajiv Bakshi of Pepsi approached Joshi to join HTA and handle the national ad campaigns of Pepsi Foods. It also stated that "Joshi is expected to sign on the dotted line soon".
At McCann Joshi is happy with this work. Joshi started his career with McCann nine moths back. Before Joining McCann, Joshi was with O&M as the Creative Director, Mumbai. Talking about his coke campaign, Joshi says, "Coke is my campaign and I am emotionally attached to the campaign." Joshi is working on more scripts for coke. "Well, yes I am working on more scripts and you will soon see them and I hope you like them too!".
