One Show Design 2010 announces the nature of pencil winners; India bags one Silver and two Bronze

The One Club hosted the 2010 One Show Design ceremony at the IAC Building in New York City. One Show Design, the most prestigious international design competition honoured the year’s best in print design, environmental design, corporate identity, publication design, and package design, with Gold, Silver and Bronze Pencils. Bates 141 bagged Silver while Karigari Design and Out of the Box earned Bronze pencils each.

From India, three agencies bagged one silver and two bronze pencils. Bates 141 bagged a Silver pencil for its work on Women’s Grievances Cell in the Public Service: Collateral – Single category. Karigari Design won a bronze pencil for The Backpacker Company titled, ‘Soap Cards’ under the Corporate Identity – Single. Out of the Box agency too bagged a bronze for its work Presidium Senior Secondary School under the Public Service: Collateral – Campaign category.

On the announcement of the winners at One Show design Awards 2010, Mary Warlick, CEO, The One Club said, “This is the tenth year that we have hosted One Show Design. It has been a tremendous honour for us to see the evolution of advertising design over the past decade, and to celebrate the achievements of the creatives who have the ability to bring brands to life.”

The evening’s highest honour, Best of Show, went to the team of Masashi & Hal & Magico & Masayoshi/USA for their music video for the song ‘Hibi No Neiro’ (Tone of Everyday) by the Japanese pop-band, Sour. The groundbreaking video was shot entirely via Webcam and features friends and fans from all over the world performing synchronized moves.

One Show Design kicked-off One Club’s Creative Week NYC on Monday evening. Creative Week NYC is a celebration of creativity in advertising, design, digital media and the arts. Their other award shows that include the One Show Awards and One Show Interactive will be held on May 13 and May 14, 2010 respectively.
