New Soumitra Saha to spearhead Turner Entertainment’s enhanced Asia-Pacific marketing team

Turner Entertainment Networks Asia, Inc. (TENA) has enhanced its marketing team structure across the Asia-Pacific region. The new strategic structure is spearheaded by Soumitra Saha, now promoted to Senior Vice-President, Regional Advertising Sales & Marketing, Asia-Pacific. The other senior level promotions include Vivek Krishnani’s elevation as Executive Director-Marketing, Asia-Pacific, while Bikram Duggal steps into Krishnani’s shoes as Associate Director–Marketing, India & Pakistan, for Cartoon Network and POGO.

Announcing the promotions, Ian Diamond, Senior VP and General Manager, TENA, said, “We believe it is of paramount importance to continually encourage and develop the wealth of talent and expertise within our great team by providing new challenges and continual growth opportunities. I am sure that the structural enhancements to the TENA Executive Team will help us scale new heights and continue to reach unparalleled milestones, as we have been doing as market leaders over the past decade.”

As Senior VP, Regional Advertising Sales & Marketing, Saha, based in Hong Kong, will continue to oversee entertainment advertising sales, and will now also drive marketing activities for Turner’s entertainment channels across the region. He would be working with TENA’s network divisions to develop cohesive initiatives based on the Network’s strategic business objectives. Saha will also continue to steward the Sesame India project (the soon-to-be-launched Galli Galli Sim Sim show), Turner International’s flagship educational project in partnership with Sesame Workshop.

In his new capacity as Executive Director-Marketing, Krishnani, will relocate to Hong Kong to oversee TENA’s marketing initiatives across the region. He would be working with Turner’s regional and in-country marketing teams to develop and execute marketing programmes that enhance brand values and achieve individual business goals. He will also supervise the development of on-line offerings of Turner’s entertainment brands.

Duggal, as Associate Director–Marketing, India & Pakistan, would now manage Turner’s marketing activities for these two markets. Based in Mumbai, Duggal will develop marketing activities that enhance the Network’s brand equity and its leadership in the kids’ television space. His responsibilities include providing strategic direction to both Cartoon Network and POGO while working closely with other network units such as advertising sales, Cartoon Network Enterprises, programming and creative services to drive awareness and demand for Turner’s brands and properties.

Turner Broadcasting System Inc., a Time Warner company, is a major producer of news and entertainment products around the world and the leading provider of programming for the basic cable industry.
