Mindshare Singapore appoints Nick Seckold as new CEO

Mindshare has appointed Nick Seckold as the new CEO of its Singapore office, taking over from Leela Nair, who will be leaving the organisation for personal reasons.

Seckold’s promotion comes after spending the last three years based in Singapore, working out of Mindshare’s regional head quarters as Head of Digital, Asia Pacific. He is credited with developing Mindshare’s digital capabilities across the region.

Commenting on his new role, Seckold said, “We have a really strong team in Singapore and I am excited about the opportunity to lead our office into the next phase of our development. I am really looking forward to applying what I’ve learned over the last decade or so to the super-charged digital culture of Singapore. There’s never been a better time to work in our industry and I strongly believe that with the steps we are taking, Mindshare and our client partners are well positioned for a future full of possibilities.”

Before relocating to Singapore in 2010, he spent four years working for Mindshare in the UK, where he helped establish the agency’s reputation as a market leader in arguably one of the most competitive markets in the world. Nick brings over 16 years of media experience to the role and has worked on numerous high-profile brands such as Unilever, Ford, HSBC, Nestlé, Nike and O2, among others.

Gowthaman Ragothaman, CEO of South Asia and ASEAN said, “With more than 50 per cent of the revenues coming from new media, Mindshare Singapore is already the most digitally converged new media agency in the region with an emphasis on real-time data and adaptive planning. It is logical that a digital expert now steps in to lead this office.”

Ragothaman added, “Leela has created a strong foundation and left the team well placed to deliver real-time data driven solutions in an adaptive world. Her contributions are evident in the quality of work being delivered to clients and the numerous awards that the agency has won over the past couple of years.”

Jon Thurlow, CEO, GroupM Singapore said, “Leela has done a tremendous job in building Mindshare Singapore in the past couple of years and Nick is an ideal candidate to lead the biggest agency in the market through its next phase of evolution.”
