mc2’s copywriter wins Bombay Ad Club’s contest for Cannes Lions

Akhilesh Bagri, copy writer with mc2 (formerly known as Madison Creative) is all set to fly to Cannes on June 17 to attend the Cannes Lions International Advertising Festival 2007. Bagri has been chosen as the ‘best creative’ in a contest held by Ad Club in association with The Times Group for young creative minds.

The Ad Club is the official sponsor for the winner who gets the all-expense paid trip to the festival.

“We had interviews and group discussions, and Bagri stood out from everyone. We found him the most suitable to take this opportunity,” said Bipin Pandit, GM, Bombay Ad Club.

In addition to attending the festival itself, Bagri will also have the opportunity to attend certain advertising workshops held at Cannes, which are organised for the undergraduate and postgraduate scholarship students.

Prabha Prabhu, Executive Director, mc2 said, “We are extremely proud of the fact that such a young talent has been recognised for such an opportunity. He’s just 20 or 21 years old, and it feels great that we have a person like that in our organisation. He’s very bright in everything that he does, and we are not surprised that he was chosen.”
