Maharashtra Governor to be Chief Guest at IMPACT Person of the Year 2014

The IMPACT Person of the Year and IMPACT Person of the Decade awards will be presented before an august gathering at the ITC Grand Central, Parel, at a function beginning at 6 pm on December 5, 2014.

The Honourable Governor of Maharashtra, Chennamaneni Vidyasagar Rao, will be the Chief Guest at the IMPACT Person of the Year (IPOY), 2014 award function in Mumbai on December 5. In its tenth year now, the IPOY award seeks to recognize and reward excellence in the world of media and advertising every year.

The Governor will preside over the award function and hand over the trophy to the winner among this year’s nominees, namely Sam Balsara, Chairman and Managing Director, Madison World, Piyush Pandey, Executive Chairman and Creative Director, South Asia, Ogilvy & Mather India, Prasoon Joshi, Chairman, McCann WorldGroup APAC & CEO, McCann Worldgroup India, Punit Goenka, MD & CEO, Zee Entertainment Enterprises Limited, Sachin Bansal & Binny Bansal, CEO & COO of Flipkart, and BD Park, President and CEO, Samsung S West Asia (also Samsung India). 

The Governor will also present the trophy to the winner of the IMPACT Person of the Decade award.

Rao, a senior BJP leader from Telangana, took over the mantle of Maharashtra Governor on August 30, 2014. He has an illustrious career, having served as Union Minister of State for Home Affairs and subsequently as Union Minister of State for Commerce and Industry in the government led by the late Atal Behari Vajpayee from 1999 to 2004. During his Parliamentary career, Rao has served as Member of the Committee on Public Accounts, Member of the Business Advisory Committee and as Member of the Committee on Finance. He was also a Member of the Consultative Committee of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
