Maggi Hot & Sweet creates a quirky spot for their latest TVC

Nestle India recently launched their new campaign ‘Maggi Hot and Sweet Tomato Chilli sauce’-It’s different’ with actor Javed Jaffrey, who has been synonymous with the brand ever since their first campaign. The ad also features actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui for the very first time.

The new campaign, which been conceptualised by Publicis, is the story about a couple, played by the two actors, and how they engage in a fun banter while relishing the Maggi Hot and Sweet sauce.

Commenting on this new ad campaign, a Nestle spokesperson says, “Ever since its launch, Hot and Sweet advertising has been defined by Javed’s unusual antics which emphasises the brand’s promise of “Enjoy the Difference”. The film highlights the coming together of two opposites: bringing back Javed Jaffrey, who has been synonymous with the brand since the very first campaign, and introducing Nawazuddin Siddiqui, as a contrasting character with a different personality. Maggi Hot & Sweet is a unique blend of sweet and chilli and it has always appealed to the palates of the masses, irrespective of age or gender.”

It is a nostalgic ad as Jaffrey comes back after a long time and the commercial is successful in highlighting the thought- ‘Enjoy the Difference’. Regarding the mediums being used for promoting of the new campaign, the company spokesperson highlighted, “We have launched two TVCs on television, as well as digital platforms. Going forward, we shall be developing more content, specifically for digital and social media.”

Previous campaigns

When Nestle India launched Maggi Hot and Sweet Tomato sauce, the popular humorous ads featuring actors Pankaj Kapoor and Javed Jaffrey with the tagline-‘It’s different’ helped the brand to stand out and create a brand recall in the category. The tone of the communication has always been quirky and comic, with the protagonist Jaffrey essaying different roles of either a smuggler or an underworld don.
