Jewellery group Jos Alukka & Sons appoints Mindshare Kochi as its media AOR

Close on the heels of bagging the Muthoot Papachan Group and Dhanlaxmi Bank businesses, Mindshare’s Kochi office has now been appointed as agency on record by jewellery group Jos Alukka & Sons. Though the account size could not be ascertained, a company source said that Jos Alukka & Sons had spent about Rs 20 crore in the last fiscal. This year, the ad spend is expected to be much higher as the company is charting out aggressive expansion plans. The spokesperson of Jos Alukka & Sons has confirmed the news to exchange4media.

The Kerala-based jewellery major currently has 16 stores spread across Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. The company is planning to open 14 more stores across the South Indian market this year, before going national.

A Mindshare Chennai spokesperson said, “The account win is a step for Mindshare to consolidate its southern presence. The objective is to grow not just in terms of delivering greater client value, but also evolve into a creative media agency as witnessed by the recent Gold won by the Chennai office at the Tamizh Awards organised by the Madras Ad Club. To be judged on creative competency and get this recognition makes the award even more worth it.”

The spokesperson further said, “Though challenging and a slow burning process, the persistence will pay off as the win indicates.”
