Innocean Worldwide completes 5 years; bullish on hiring

Korean agency network, Innocean Worldwide completed five years of operations in India on March 25, 2011. Launched in 2005 as the in-house advertising agency for the Hyundai-Kia automotive on a global basis, the agency commenced its first overseas office in India in 2006.

Speaking on the changing strategy of the agency, Vivek Srivastava, Joint Managing Director, Innocean Worldwide India, who, along with YK Choi, had set up the agency five years ago, told exchange4media, “We will follow a steady growth path. The growth streams are organic, as in coming through expansion of services we offer and the increase in model portfolio of Hyundai and more systemic, wherein we all go in well-thought out pitches to a new set of clients in a calibrated manner. This is no race to the top regardless of quality. For us, quality service is more important than statistically dizzying short term growth.”

On improvising the creative work and the road ahead, Srivastava said, “The creative approach will be centered around sharpening the appeal edge of brands. It will be about bringing to life the strategic quotient of the brand’s communication approach. We will also see amalgamation of TV, print and digital platforms at an idea stage itself.”

And since the agency is looking to strengthen its role and presence, would hiring be a major consideration? Srivastava replied, “Yes, we will add people across disciplines to cater to our clients needs in view of our enhanced service portfolio. Digital will see a higher head count definitely in the coming months.”

The fifth anniversary ceremony was attended by Global CEO, KH Ahn; Overseas Business Head, Steve Jun; Founder CEO in India, Y K Choi; and KH Kim, Creative Director, Innocean Seoul. The top management of Hyundai Motor, including MD HW Park; Arvind Saxena, Division Head, Sales & Marketing; and YK Koo, Senior Director, Sales, also attended the celebrations. The gathering also saw presence of senior media professionals like G Krishnan, CEO, TV Today Networks; Anita Nayyar, CEO, MPG; Alok Srivastava, Publisher, Oulook Lifestyle Group; Taranjeet Singh, Head, Ad Sales, BBC; Anurag Batra, Chairman and Editor-in-Chief, exchange4Media Group; and Satyajeet Sen, CEO, ZenithOptimedia.

For the record, the agency network is now present in 18 countries with 20 offices, the latest additions being Turkey and France. Innocean Worldwide India recently forayed into the sports marketing genre by becoming Hyundai’s Official Car Partner with International Cricket Council for five years. Fena, Sleepwell, Mattresses, KEI Wires & Cables, Open Magazine, Beam and Aureole Inspecs are some of the accounts handled by the agency.
