GroupM Global CEO Irwin Gotlieb keynote speaker at exchange4media Conclave 2010

Irwin Gotlieb, Global Chief Executive Officer, GroupM, will be the keynote speaker at the Mumbai leg of exchange4media Conclave 2010 on June 11.

Gotlieb will be speaking on the impact of digital distribution of all media, moving towards a day when the distinction between analog and digital media won’t be relevant. The focus of his address will be on how the business will need to change, how the practice of media planning and implementation will evolve, and why all of this is good for all of us.

Gotlieb’s address will be followed by a special Q&A session moderated by Sunil Lulla, MD and CEO of Times Global Broadcasting.

Gotlieb had joined WPP in September 1999 as Chairman and CEO of MindShare Worldwide and moved into his current GroupM role in April 2003. Prior to WPP, he was President and CEO of MediaVest Worldwide, a company that he founded in December 1993. The founding of MediaVest represented the fulfillment of a 22-year journey with the company, which started with his joining Benton & Bowles in 1977 as Associate Director of Broadcast Programming.

Gotlieb is a three-time Adweek/ Mediaweek All Star, including a President’s Award in 1997. He is also a double Advertising Age Media Maven honoree, and in February 2000, was named as the Media Player of the Year by Advertising Age – the only occasion that this award has been given. In October 2006, he became the first advertising/ media agency executive to be inducted into the Broadcast & Cable Hall of Fame. In January 2010, he received the Brandon Tartikoff Legacy Award.
