GoaFest 2011: Media Abbys shortlist announced; 133 entries

The judging process for GoaFest 2011 has been set in motion with the announcement of the shortlisted entries for Media Abbys. This year, a total of 133 entries have been shortlisted, which is much higher than the 87 entries last year.

In all, there are 16 categories this year. This year, two new entries have been included in Media Abbys at GoaFest with the advent of The Festival of Media, Montreux, hosting two of its categories – ‘Best Communication Strategy’ and ‘Best Contribution to a Campaign by a Media Owner’.

Topping the charts with the maximum entries is Maxus with 33 entries, followed by Mindshare and Lodestar UM, with both having 19 entries each, and Mudra Max with 16 entries.

The other agencies in the race include Mediacom with 11 entries, Creativeland Asia with five entries shortlisted. OMD, Madison Media Infinity 1 and Madison Media Plus have four entries shortlisted. MEC India has three entries shortlisted, while McCann Worldgroup, Mates Madison, RK Swamy Media Group, Percept Media, Isobar and Dialog Factory have two entries each. Lintas Media Group, Starcom Worldwide and TELibrahma Convergent have one shortlisted entry each.

The judging round of Media Abbys took place on March 17, 2011, while the final round of judging will take place on March 21, 2011. Media Abbys would be held on the April 8, 2011. The Media Abbys is being led by R Gowthaman, Leader, Mindshare, South Asia.
