Dentsu Marcom begins work on Dr Batra’s business

Dr Batra’s hunt for an advertising partner seems to have come to an end, at least so far as a creative agency is concerned. The company has almost decided on Dentsu Marcom after a multi-agency pitch. Dattaram Advertising is the incumbent on the business. Informed sourced said that the company is still in the process of looking for a media agency. The account spends are pegged in the region of Rs 13-15 crore.

The sources stated that almost 11 agencies were contesting for the business. Among the other agencies in the fray, apart from the incumbent and Dentsu Marcom, are O&M, JWT, McCann Erickson, Rediffusion DY&R, Percept H and Triton.

The sources further informed that even as the relation between Marcom and Dr Batra’s has not been signed yet, work has already begun. The Dr Batra’s ad that appeared in papers yesterday was released by Dentsu Marcom, Mumbai.

At the time of filing the story, both the agency and client were not available for comments.
