Colvyn Harris appointed Chairman of GoaFest 2009

Even before the industry could get over the hangover of GoaFest 2008, the Advertising Agencies Association of India is already planning for the festival next year. JWT India’s CEO Colvyn Harris has been given the mandate to handle GoaFest 2009. In its pursuit of becoming the single biggest advertising festival for India, GoaFest has held the attention of the entire Indian media and advertising fraternity in the last three years.

Speaking to exchange4media, Harris said, “It has already become a success and is on the calendar of many worldwide, who have heard about the festival. We expect a line-up of the world’s Who’s Who, and will ensure that the content would surpass and delight those who attend. We want to make GoaFest 2009 the biggest, brightest and best ever.”

Harris is already busy putting together the committee that would be working on the festival’s preparations for the next year. Needless to say that there is quite a bit on the plate of the next GoaFest 2009 committee.

GoaFest 2008 had seen the participation from some of the most influential names in global advertising that include the likes of Steve Gatfield, CEO, Lowe Worldwide; Craig Davis, former CCO, JWT Worldwide; Donald Gunn of The Gunn Report; and Kevin Swanepoel, President, The One Club, amongst many others. The media buzz that it had drawn and the publicity around the event are further indicators of the expectations from GoaFest 2009.
