Clio Awards 2011: Gold for JWT; McCann Worldgroup bags 3 Bronzes

Winners of Clio Awards 2011 have been announced. The Clio Awards Conference and Award reception are scheduled for May 19, 2011, at the Essex House and American Museum of Natural History, respectively.
 
This year, eight Indian entries had made it to the shortlist – McCann Worldgroup had three shortlists, Rediffusion Y&R and Leo Burnett India had two shortlists each, while JWT India had one entry shortlisted.
 
JWT is the only agency from India to have bagged a Gold for its work titled Inner Smile (Campaign) for Fujifilm F70 cameras.
 
McCann Worldgroup Mumbai won three Bronzes in all the three categories it was shortlisted. The agency bagged a Bronze in Design category for Enslaved Children ‘Ceramic Plate, Wooden Frame, Crying Carpet, Wall Hanging’; another Bronze in the Direct Mail category again for Enslaved Children ‘Ceramic Plate’ Public Service Child Labour; and the third Bronze was won for its work titled Fire Scooter for Republic of Chicken Restaurant.
 
Leo Burnett bagged two Bronzes in the Print and Radio categories for Sketch Up (Campaign) Heinz Ketchup and Pleasure of Mixing Bajaj Hand Blender, respectively.
 
Rediffusion Y&R Mumbai won a Bronze in the Design category for its work titled Flip It for Dr Raj Brahmbhatt, Marriage Counsellor.
 

Founded by Wallace A Ross in 1959, the Clio Awards honour work in a broad range of mediums, including Interactive, Direct Mail, Content & Contact, Film, Print, Out of Home, Innovative Media, Integrated Campaign, Radio, Design and Public Relations. Student work is also recognised in Interactive, Film, Print, Out of Home, Innovative Media, Integrated Campaign and Design.
