Andy Wilson, Head of Strategy, Asia at BBDO and Proximity is joining AdFest 2014 as Jury President of the Effective Lotus and Media Lotus categories.

As Chairman of Asia Planning Council, Wilson is one of the industry’s most influential strategic executives, leading planners in key regional markets to develop innovative and effective communications strategies.

“I am honoured and excited to be serving AdFest as Jury President. AdFest has always had its finger on the pulse of communications in the region, and is one of the most dynamic showcases of the best communications on offer. I am particularly excited to be overseeing what must the two most dynamic categories – Effective Lotus and Media Lotus,” said Wilson.

He further said, “I believe that the future health of our industry is dependent on our ability to demonstrate the power of well-directed creativity to change behaviour and build clients’ business. The Effective Lotus is a critical part of that evidence, and the increasingly symbiotic way in which brand, consumers, and media inter-relate is one of the most revealing indicators on how we are all co-creating the future of brands.”

The introduction of the Media Lotus for the first time in 2014 brings the total number of categories in the Lotus Awards to 17.

“Andy Wilson has championed the growth of strategy and planning in the Asia Pacific. He is the perfect candidate to lead this year’s Effective Lotus and Media Lotus jury, while his collaborative style of leadership is a good fit for AdFest’s theme for 2014, ‘Co-Create the Future’. We look forward to welcoming him to Thailand in March,” said AdFest President Jimmy Lam.

AdFest 2014 takes place from March 6 to 8 at the Royal Cliff Hotels Group in Pattaya, Thailand.
