“Aidem will continue”: Raj Nayak in conversation with e4m

When Aidem’s MD and Founder Director Raj Nayak decided to head to Colors as CEO of the channel, questions were raised on Aidem’s way forward. As is known, once Nayak is on Viacom18 payroll, he would step down from the Board of Directors at Aidem to avoid any situation of conflict. Clients at Aidem told exchange4media in a conversation on April 18, 2011 that they were “not worried”. And Nayak elaborates on why they had no reason to worry.

Speaking to exchange4media, Nayak stated, “Aidem is a professionally managed company. There is a very senior talent pool in place. It were these people who came together to create Aidem. And it is they who would decide the way forward. As an organisation, Aidem is committed to its people, business partners and associates. The way forward would keep in mind the benefits of all these stakeholders.”

Aidem’s top management comprises Niraj Dutt (COO), Kaushal Dalal (EVP), Suku Murti (EVP), Vikas Khanchandani (EVP) and Rohit Gopakumar (EVP). While the deciding factor of the way ahead for this team would be to ensure that welfare of all stakeholders, including clients and employees, is taken care of, Nayak divulged that restructuring of operations was on the cards.

Nayak said, “The restructuring of the business will happen in a way that takes care of key business associates, and employees who are working on these businesses.”

The joint venture with eBus will also continue, which already has Kaushal Dalal on the board of that company.

Nayak reiterated, “Aidem will continue, the structure and business focus may change.”

And who would lead the company? Nayak replied, “It is a time of transition, and everything cannot happen overnight. There would be deliberations internally and then at the right time, someone would take charge and carry the mantle forward. It is not as much my decision as much as the decision of the senior people at Aidem, and it depends on a whole lot of factors including what the structure and business focus of the company would be. It is a time process, it cannot happen overnight.”
