Advertising Club Calcutta elects a new set of office bearers

The Advertising Club of Calcutta, the oldest ad club in the country, has elected a new set of office bearers at its annual general meeting held at Tollygunge Club, Kolkata on Friday.

While Sanjay Datta of ITC and Sidhartha Roy of Response continue as President and Vice-President respectively, Anirban Datta of the Times of India Group is the new Honorary Secretary. Melvyn Pinto of Nicco Parks & Resorts takes over as the Honorary Teasurer.

The governing body consists of M S Balaji (JWT), Jhum Jhum Shirali (Eveready), Vivek Gupta (Sanmarg), Dinesh Jain (The Telegraph) and Sandip Chaudhuri , the outgoing head of Lowe in Kolkata.

The Executive Committee consists of Sumit Roy (Univbrands), Shivaji Dasgupta (Rediffusion), Sumit Ray (Tata Steel), Kanchan Datta (Inner Circle), Amitava Bhattacharya (Times of India ), Gautam Bose (Airtime Marketing and Sales), Anand Parameshwaran (Radio Mirchi ), Arijit Chatterjee (Tata Teleservices ) ,Jahan Mehta (Selvel), Oindrilla Dutt (Open Doors ), Rishen Mukherjee (CESC), Subhasis Ganguli (Inox Leisure ), Arijit Dutta(Priya Entertainment ), Soumitra Roy (Sky B-Bangla) and Shubhajit Ganguly (Zee Telefilms ).

The composition of the new Executive Committee reflects the fact that people from other spheres such as radio, entertainment and event management are being taken into the fold of Advertising Club, contrary to the earlier trend of it being restricted to only people from advertising agencies and marketing organisations.
