AdFest 2009: Indian agencies bring home 27 metals

Indian agencies put up a strong show at the AdFest 2009, held in Pattaya, Thailand from March 19-21, bagging 27 metals. Leo Burnett India topped the list with 11 metals, followed by McCann Erickson and JWT India (four each), Rediffusion Y&R and O&M India (two each), Contract, Creativeland Asia, TBWA\India and Publicis (one each).

Leo Burnett bagged six Silvers for Bajaj Exhaust Fans in Poster Lotus and Press Lotus in the sub-category of Single and Campaign for Best of Home Appliances & Furnishings, respectively, for the work titled ‘Bajaj Exhaust Fans Kitchen’ and ‘Bajaj Exhaust Fans’.

The agency also bagged five Bronzes for Bajaj Exhaust Fans for the work titled ‘Babyroom’ in Poster and Press Lotus for Single Best of Home Appliances & Furnishings; Luxor Highlighter Pens in Press Lotus in Campaign for Best of Business Equipment category; Tide Detergents in Print Lotus for Best of Photography and Film Lotus for Best of Household Products and Maintenance category.

McCann Erickson bagged three Silvers for Maha Thanda Tel (Cooling oil) in Print Craft Lotus for Best Use of Illusion sub-category. The agency also bagged a Bronze for the work on Symbol Freelife Raster for Design Lotus in Best of Collateral Design sub-category.

JWT India picked up a Lotus Roots Film Craft Gold for their work for The Times of India titled ‘A Day in the Life of Chennai’. The same work also bagged two Silvers in Film and Music. JWT bagged a Silver in Film and a Bronze in Film Craft for their much-appreciated work titled ‘Arjuna, the Archer’ for Sulekha.com.

Ogilvy & Mather bagged a Silver and Bronze for Campaign Best of Corporate Identity and Best of Graphic Design for its work for Art Restoration Service and Short Film Festival, respectively.

Rediffusion Y&R won a Gold for its work on Seventymm in the category of Radio Lotus, sub-category of Best of Retail. Under Radio Lotus category, the agency also bagged a Silver for Vandana American India Foundation in the sub-category of Best of Social Engagements.

Contract Advertising bagged a Bronze in Best of Packaging Design for its work for Cadbury’s Christmas Celebrations under the Design Lotus category. Creativeland Asia agency also bagged a Bronze for Design in the Single Best of Corporate Identity for Car Mall.

In Radio Lotus, Publicis Communication bagged a Silver for Mosquito Repellent/Killer in the Best of Health and Personal Care category. TBWA\India picked up a Bronze in the Outdoor Lotus for USB Drive in the Best of Mobile Billboard/ Wrapped-Around category.
