ABC Kolkata bags creative duties for Sony 8 and Channel Eight Motion Pictures

Following a multi-agency pitch, Advertising Bureau & Consultants (ABC), a Kolkata-based INS accredited agency, has bagged the creative duties of Sony 8 and Channel Eight Motion Pictures. According to sources close to the development, the cumulative size of the business is estimated to be around Rs 1 crore.

Commenting on the win, Aveek Roy Chowdhury, Group Head, ABC, said, “The two wins offer us a great opportunity to come out with stimulating creative work. We are looking forward to it.”

The creatives would be led primarily by outdoor and supported by print. As Chowdhury informed, for Sony 8, the first piece of communication would be on IPL, which would be telecast with Bengali commentary. For Channel Eight Motion Pictures, ABC will be the communication platform for their forthcoming Bangla movies.

It may be recalled that Sony 8 was previously called Channel 8 and was dedicated to airing Bangla movies, which was eventually sold to Sony Pictures Television International (SPTI). Channel Eight Motion Pictures is a venture of Ashoke Surana, who had started Channel 8, but later sold its stakes.
