Ogilvy announces 2nd edition of ENVY Awards

Judged by the biggest names in advertising, who aren’t working at Ogilvy, the second edition of the ENVIES will award the 25 most enviable pieces of work from the entire body of work that Ogilvy India produces in a year.  The second edition will be held on 3rd November, 2014.

The first edition of Envies saw 35 campaigns being recognised across categories such as Film, Radio, Outdoor, Digital, Design, and Print. The Awards ceremony was held in Mumbai on December 16, 2013. In its inaugural edition also, Ogilvy had an external jury for the Envies, which included Agnello Dias (Taproot), Raj Kamble (StrawberryFrog), Sajan Raj Kurup (Creativeland Asia), Ashish Chakravarty (Contract), Arun Iyer (Lowe), Akshay Kapnadak (McCann Erickson), Malvika Mehra (Grey), Josy Paul (BBDO), Sonal Dabral (DDB Mudra), and V Sunil (Wieden+Kennedy).

Piyush Pandey, Executive Chairman & Creative Director, Ogilvy South Asia said, “The Envies are rewards where we raise the bar beyond any other standard in the industry. Twenty-five best pieces of work are awarded regardless of category and media. There is no easy way out.  Stalwarts from the best creative team measure up against each other with the sole purpose to raise our standards so that we deliver even better to our clients in the year ahead. And these are truly unique because a set of the best minds from the industry judge the entire body of work together. It is not a jamboree of 150 judges who may or may not be capable of identifying the best ideas.”

On the difference between last year’s and this year’s Envies, Pandey said, “Difference in the Envies this year will be the work reviewed will be one year and not eighteen months like last year. The competition is going to be tougher, as there will only be 25 Envies given away this year.”

On not participating in Goafest, Pandey said, “We have not cast in stone that we will not participate in Goafest, if they clean up their act we will. Ogilvy will participate in any awards that are meaningful.”

The ENVY jury:
KS Chakravarthy (Chax),  Vikram Gaikwad,  Raj Kamble (StrawberryFrog), Josy Paul (BBDO), Bobby Pawar (Publicis), Arun Iyer (Lowe Lintas), Malvika Mehra (Grey Worldwide), Rahul Mathew (DDB Mudra West) and Ashish Chakravarty (Contract)

In its second year, it’s going to be a bigger show with speakers from various creative fields sharing their wisdom.
