‘The New Indian Express’ to finalise creative and media partners shortly

Express Publications (Madurai) Ltd, publisher of ‘The New Indian Express’ and the Tamil Daily ‘Dinamani’, has called has called in for creative and media pitches, for its flagship brand ‘The New Indian Express’. Mudra is the incumbent agency.

“We will be finalising the new communication partner in the next 10 days, and the agency would be assisting us in putting forth our communication plans,” said Vinod Kumar, Director-Marketing, Express Publications (Madurai) Ltd.

Kumar added that the first round of presentation was over and the second was currently underway. Six agencies are in the fray for the business. However, the size of the business could not be ascertained at the time of filing this story.

It may be recalled that Express Publications (Madurai) Ltd had appointed Aditya Sinha as Editor-in-Chief of ‘The New Indian Express’ in April 2007. Since his appointment, the English daily has gone through a major overhaul. It also recently launched a new supplement ‘Indulge’, which is distributed along with the newspaper every Friday.

Published from 14 centres across South India and Bhubaneshwar, ‘The New Indian Express’ has a net paid circulation of 278,243 copies (source: ABC January-June, 2007).
