The 28th Asian Advertising Congress, AdAsia 2013, being hosted in Hanoi, Vietnam this year, kicked-off on November 11, 2013. The event, themed ‘Re-engineer Advertising’, is being attended by over 1000 delegates from the marketing and advertising industry, which includes Asian Federation of Advertising Association (AFAA) member countries and representatives from media and advertising enterprises in Asia and around the world.
In keeping with the burgeoning pace of new media touching every aspect of our lives, AdAsia yesterday announced ‘Digital’ as theme for 2015, making it the first AdAsia to be totally dedicated to the medium.
“A lot of appreciation and delight was expressed at the announcement of the theme. It has received a very enthusiastic response,” said Pratap Bose, COO, DDB Mudra Group.
It may be noted that today there will also be a special session on the digital media landscape titled ‘Redefining Digital: Mankind’s Third Biggest Revolution’. The session will be chaired by media entrepreneur Annurag Batra. The speakers in the session include Jawahar Kanjilal, Vice Present and Global Head, Nokia Life and Lee Smith, CEO – Platforms, Omnicom Media Group APAC.
The venue for next year will be Taipei. This decision involved a process of voting by AFAA, the organisers of AdAsia 2013 and the council members. Philippines, Manila and Bangkok were also in the running.
