Handset manufacturer Sony Ericsson has parked its media mandate with Omnicom Media Group India. The development comes in the wake of a multi-agency global pitch. Sony Ericsson’s media spends in India are estimated to be in the vicinity of Rs 40-42 crore.
The incumbent on the business is MEC. While MEC has been Sony Ericsson’s global agency for 10 years now, in India the business had moved to the agency in 2005.
While Jasmin Sohrabji, CEO, Omnicom Media Group India did not respond to exchange4media’s queries on the subject, sources close to the development informed that the agency has already begun work on the business in India. It is understood that the agreement with the agency comprises all Sony Ericsson’s media investments globally for an initial period of two years.
In a press statement, Steve Walker, Chief Marketing Officer, Sony Ericsson, had cited comprehensive strategic thinking, insight and a “strong cultural and structural connection between the two teams” as the reasons that worked in favour of Omnicom Media Group. For more updates, be socially connected with us on
