Viewers of SCV (Sumangali Cable Vision), a 24-hour Tamil film music channel, were greeted with the Sun Music Channel ID from Monday. The channel continues with 24 hours of film music-based programming offered under the SCV name, including live call-in shows. This isn't the first time that Sun Music has gone on air. The channel used to be a part of the Sun bouquet in the past.
While the channel's spokesperson was unavailable for comment, the industry sources said that it might be an effort by the behemoth to bring all its channels under the Sun umbrella.
SCV, the Chennai-based MSO, is a division of Sumangali Publications Ltd, which owns a major chunk of the Sun TV network. Earlier this year it was reported to be in talks to acquire RPG Netcom.
