Malayala Manorama plans to launch ‘Watch Time’ magazine in July, 2012. It has partnered with German publisher, Ebner Group for the same. The new magazine will feature premium and prestige watch brands from across the world.

“We feel it is the right time to launch the world's best watch magazine, Watch Time, for serious watch enthusiasts in India,” said Varghese Chandy, Senior General Manager, Marketing Operations, Malayala Manorama.

It is targeted at men and women who are above 25 years of age and have a passion for premium watches. The quarterly magazine has a cover price of Rs 100.

Commenting on the expectation from the Indian market, Chandy said, “India has huge potential for luxury goods. The luxury segment is expected to grow to approximately $ 15 billion in 2015 and watches will form a significant part of it. It is therefore the right time to enter this market.”

Elaborating on the marketing and promotion strategy, he added, “We will use our huge distribution network to promote the magazine, especially at our premium outlets at metros, airports, luxury hotels, etc. We will work very closely with the watch trade to generate a good database and ensure that almost all watch enthusiasts get to buy the copies.”
