Global Media Network to handle advertising sales for ‘USA Today’ in India

Global Media Network (GMN), one of India’s media representation companies, has been entrusted with the responsibility of handling advertising sales for ‘USA Today’ in India. With a circulation of over 2.27 million, ‘USA Today’, is one of the trusted sources of news and information for over 5.2 million readers in the US and has a 44 per cent market share of the combined circulation of all US national newspapers.

The company markets advertising space for well-know international dailies like ‘The Times’, London; ‘Peoples Daily’, China; ‘FAZ & FAS’, Germany; ‘The Japan Times’, Tokyo; ‘Toronto Star’, Toronto; ‘The Australian’, ‘Herald Sun’, Australia; ‘Izvestia’, Moscow; ‘JoongAng Ilbo’ and ‘Korea Herald’, South Korea.

When contacted, Vimal Anand, Director, Global Media Network, said, “‘USA Today’ till now wasn’t actively targeting the Indian market, but now that they have realised the potential of this market, they have considered us on the basis of our expertise and the media bouquet that we have.”

Explaining the kind of work that the company will be doing for ‘USA Today’, Anand said, “We are going to inform all ad agencies and media buying agencies the relevance of ‘USA Today’, which is the largest circulated publication of the US.”

GMN has got a yearly contract with ‘USA Today’, which will be renewed depending on the performance. The company has been working on this contract for a month now and some of the advertisers who have shown interest include the tourism sector, corporates as well as associations like FICCI and CII.
