Grey India appoints Samir Datar as VP & Branch Head for Delhi

Grey India has appointed Samir Datar as Branch Head for its Delhi office. With over 20 years of experience, Datar has worked in some of the leading agencies such as JWT, Cheil, GIIR and Law & Kenneth. He has worked across diverse categories and has extensive experience in automobiles, durables, mobile phones, FMCG and infrastructure. Some of the brands that he has handled include Maggi, Sunrise, Nature Fresh, ESPN Star Sports, Samsung, LG and ITC personal care products.

Datar will report to Jishnu Sen, CEO & President, Grey India. Confirming the development, Sen said, “Samir and I go back a long way, he is a both an excellent advertising professional and a great leader. I am thrilled that he has agreed to come aboard. I am sure that he will lead our Delhi operations to great heights.”

On joining Grey, Datar said, “Delhi is a very challenging market when it comes to advertising. I am absolutely excited about joining Grey Worldwide and take on the challenge to grow the operations in Delhi.”

In all his previous assignments, Datar has worked across Planning and Account Management and believes that communication is award winning if it makes a difference to the brand in the market and builds a meaningful connect with the consumer.
