D&AD Awards 2008 announces jury for craft categories

D&AD Awards 2008 has announced the names of judges for the craft categories such as Art Direction, Ambient, Illustration, Photography and Writing for Advertising. Some of the big names among the jury members include Mark Reddy of Bartle Bogle Hegarty, London, for Art Direction, and Ivan Chermayeff of Chermayeff & Geismar Studio LLC for Illustration.

Other jury members include Richard Flintham of Fallon London for Ambient, Guido Mocafico of Mocafico Studios for Photography and Tim Riley of AMV.BBDO for Writing for Advertising.

Commenting on his selection as a jury member, Tim Riley said, “When D&AD called me for judging entries under the category of ‘Writing for Advertising’, they informed me that the judging procedure would not take a lot of my time, which is true. Writing for Advertising tends to attract fewer entries than, say, TV and Cinema or Posters. I think that’s a bit of a shame. So, my hope would be that this year we find a good selection of well-written ads and award a Pencil or two. That might inspire people to use words as well as pictures when they are creating ads in future.”
