Zoom beefs up prime time programme line-up with three new shows

Zoom has lined up some more Bollywood fare to spruce up its week day offerings. The channel is introducing three new shows from October 10, which would be aired in the 8.30 pm slot. The three half-hour shows are – ‘Bollywood Case Files’ (Mondays and Tuesdays), ‘Superstars-Super Lives’ (Wednesdays) and ‘Bollywood Biographies’ (Fridays).

Commenting on the new shows, MK Anand, Business Head, Zoom, said, “The launch of these shows is part of Zoom’s 2008 festive season offerings. We have promised our viewers seven new shows, of which four have been launched recently. All these shows are designed to expand the Indian viewers’ connect with Bollywood and give them a more intimate feel of the lives of their favorite stars. Specifically, these three shows form Zoom’s prime time narrative band at 8.30 pm.”

On the shows’ content, Anand said, “‘Bollywood Biographies’ will feature the film industry’s most accomplished and respected artists – from Aamir Khan to Madhuri Dixit, and Hrithik Roshan to Rekha. It will delve deep into the lives of our biggest stars when they aren’t facing a camera. The show is based on studious research, rich in original footage shot over the years, and authenticated by in-depth interviews with industry insiders.”

“‘Bollywood Case Files’ is an investigative series, which takes on the biggest scandals, rumours and controversies that have rocked the film industry. The show goes beyond the hype and hyperbole, and gets to the bottom of issues to create a series of meltdown moments. ‘Superstars Super Lives’ is designed as a ‘string of mini-series’, much on the lines of the recently concluded eight-part series on ‘The Rise & Rise of SRK’,” Anand added.

On the promotional plans for these shows, he said, “There would be a multi-media campaign for all the shows. We are looking at a 360-degree initiative.”

The three new shows would join the four shows already launched by Zoom – ‘Zabar 10’, which was launched on August 17 and is aired at 9 pm on Sundays; ‘Stars Ke Sitare’, which was launched on August 30 and is aired at 8.30 pm on Saturdays; ‘Bollywood Club’, which was launched on September 8 and is aired Monday to Friday at 8 pm; and ‘Planet Bollywood’, which was launched on September 1 and is aired Monday to Friday at 7 pm, with repeat telecast at 9 pm.
