Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd (ZEEL) is setting up its new concern to handle its ad sales and that of Zee Media Corporation Ltd (ZMCL and will be called Zee Unimedia Ltd.
Zee Unimedia Ltd will also manage the ad sales of ZEEL’s print, digital and broadcasting verticals. In the coming time Zee Unimedia also plans to manage the ad sales duties of external channels not owned by the Zee group.
Zee Unimedia is all set to provide an integrated solution to media buyers from April 1 2016, offering multiple options across genres and platforms. The plan is to work as canvassing agent for ZEEL, its associate entities and third-party companies, at a mutually agreeable commission on arm’s-length basis. ZEEL has decided to move the TV channel distribution business from the wholly owned subsidiary company to itself from April 2016.
The ZEEL board has approved the acquisition of 100% stake, comprising 700 equity shares of Rs 10 each, in Zee Unimedia at par value. Even Taj TV’s distribution biz will be integrated in ZEEL.
