Zee TV strengthens its weekend block with a comedy and a fantasy tale

Zee TV gas announced two new shows, strengthening its weekend slots. The two shows that will premiere on November 16 are ‘Chaldi Da Naam Gaddi’ at 9 pm and ‘Aladdin’ at 9.30 pm.

Commenting on the launch of the two shows, Punit Goenka, Network Operating Officer, ZEEL, said, “The launch of the two new shows in the weekend primetime is part of Zee’s constant endeavour to innovate and enter fresh domains of entertainment. ‘Chaldi Da Naam Gaddi’ is an out and out entertaining comedy. The show has the capability to make one laugh and cry at the same time. The emotions of the storyline are so subtle that an instant union is established with the viewer. This also is our step towards strongly establishing our weekend band from Friday-Sunday.”

He further said, “We have another show that we are launching simultaneously in the 9.30 pm slot immediately after ‘Chaldi Da Naam Gaddi’, called ‘Aladdin’. This again is a very unique concept where for the first time we are using computer graphics and special effects in a primetime show. Fantasy as a genre is relatively unexplored and ‘Aladdin’, with its magical appeal, novel treatment and exciting special effects, will definitely connect with the audience.”

‘Chaldi Da Naam Gaddi’ has been produced by Hats Off Productions while ‘Aladdin’ has been produced by Applause Entertainment & Sagar Arts.

‘Chaldi Da Naam Gaddi’ has some established names associated with it such as Ravi Gossain, Suhasini Mulay, Daya Shankar Pandey, to name a few. While ‘Alladin’ has a young cast, namely Mandar, who essays the title role, Nazea Hasan as Princess Jasmine and Ranvijay Razdan, who plays the evil Jaffer.
