Zee to start ‘Business Baazigar’ reality show from March 31

The much awaited show of Zee will finally get underway on March 31. ‘Business Baazigar’, the reality show which was slated to be launched in the second half of 2004, is now ready to give the common man an opportunity to turn his business idea into reality. The show will be aired on Friday and Saturday at 8pm.

The one-hour show which has been produced and directed by Alankar Jain, is a journey of 250 participants who will eventually be scaled down to 50 finalists. The final 20 will be put through gruelling tasks that will test their business acumen and team spirit.

Speaking on the occasion of the launch, Punit Goenka, Business Head, Zee TV, said, “We are glad to announce the launch of Business Baazigar, a hunt for India’s business tycoon. This show promises to entertain the audience with its intense reality drama and its unique concept.”

He further added, “We at Zee TV have always lent a platform to deserving talent. With Sa Re Ga Ma Pa, hidden singing abilities have been nurtured and brought to the forefront. Business Baazigar again attempts to bring life to a commendable business idea.”

Asked on why the show didn’t take off as planned earlier, Goenka said, “We didn’t realize the magnitude of the show. We didn’t want to compromise on its potential. We wanted to give justice to the concept and the format of the show.”

The channel has made an attempt to give a platform to the common people from different walks of life and various parts of India to present their business ideas in front of the jury comprising Subhash Chandra, Chairman, Zee Telefilms, Mahesh Murthy, CEO, Passionfunds, and Prof. Anil Gupta from IIM-Ahmedabad.

After every task the jury will decide the fate of the contestants. Eventually one participant will emerge winner and will get funds from Zee Telefilms for his business venture.

Aditya Birla Group has partnered with Zee TV for this multi-episode reality series. The show will be hosted by Cyrus Sahukar, and is being promoted across the Zee Network. A 360-degree approach has been taken to promote the show.
