Zee Telefilms gets green signal to uplink more channels

Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has given approval to Zee Telefilms Limited (ZTL) to uplink four additional channels directly from India. These channels are Alpha Kaveri, Alpha Bharati, Alpha Krishna and Alpha Urdu.

With this, ZTL has received permission to uplink 10 channels from India through the teleport of Essel Shyam Communication Ltd at Noida.

ZTL said it would be offering its channels under two broad categories — the regional channels under Alpha platform and national channels under Zee.

According to senior sources, in three to four-months'' time Zee will be re-launching the current Bharathi and Kaveri channels as Alpha Tamil and Alpha Kannada which will soon go off-air for the make-over.
