Zee Sports launches ‘Football Happy Hours’ contest

Keeping in line with the promise to promote football and make the last phase of ONGC Cup Tenth National Football League more interactive and rewarding, Zee Sports is launching ‘Football Happy Hours’ contest (FHHC). To promote the concept, Zee Sports is launching a campaign, which includes on air and on ground promotion.

The mega prize of the contest will be an all expense paid trip to Germany to watch the FIFA World Cup, sponsored by SOTC Sport Abroad. Other prizes include DVD players by INTEX, CTVs by LG and sunglasses by Speedo.

Gaurav Seth, Vice-President-Marketing, Zee Sports, explained, “FHHC is a promotion designed to involve more and more viewers with the game. We wanted to offer them incentives to watch more of football and as the Football World Cup is also coming up, the excitement around the game is tremendous. It’s a huge event and we wanted to give sports lovers a chance to experience the same.”

As regards the contest, capsules will be on air during the telecast of the ONGC Cup matches and viewers will have to send their response through SMS. While most of the activities will be on-air, there will be some amount of on-ground partnerships as well. And part of the on-ground activity, Zee Sports has tied up with Barista outlets. In addition there will be print, outdoor and radio promotions. The contest is a month long activity going into the last week of May and will be promoted on all the network channels.

Commenting on how football had delivered for Zee Sports, Seth said, “Football is one sport, apart from cricket, that has delivered huge ratings, and overall it has been a satisfying experience. In the first year we were not sure of the response football will garner, but now with the first year almost coming to an end, we are more than pleased with the response we have got, not only from the viewers but also the advertisers. They have shown tremendous support towards this initiative of ours.”
