It’s revamp time for quite a few channels. The latest to go in for a makeover is Zee News. The channel will be sporting a new look from June 19, 2006. Also among the changes is the launch of a new programme called ‘Badi Khabar’, which goes on air from today.
There will be an interplay of red and blue colours on the channel. Besides, there will be new graphics as well as news tickers. Efforts have also been made to lay stress on the styling of the news anchors.
Zee News Director, Laxmi Narain Goel, said, “Every channel changes its looks in a year or so in order to be in tune with the viewers’ tastes. We also felt the need to upgrade ourselves and be uptodate.”
The channel had last changed its looks two years ago. This time the change has been effected by a Canada-based company, whose name could not be ascertained despite repeated attempts.
The new programme, ‘Badi Khabar’, will focus on the journalistic approach of the channel and showcase what Zee News stands for. The hour-long news show will concentrate on big and serious issues that affect the masses.
Speaking on the promotions, Rohit Kumar, AVP, Marketing, Zee News, said, “We are focusing on marketing ‘Badi Khabar’ in a big way by looking at going across the country. We are looking at radio, outdoor and print campaigns as well. We will focus on B2B as well as on B2C promotions.”
The marketing activities for ‘Badi Khabar’ would begin from Monday onwards, informed Kumar.
