In keeping with its progression to a more contemplative mode with the ‘Zara Sochiye’ focus, Zee News has launched a new show with the same name. The programme has been on air for two weeks now and is aired on Sundays at 7:30 pm. Barun Das, CEO, Zee News, shares with exchange4media more about this ‘Zara Sochiye’ initiative.
Commenting on the programme, Das said, “The objective is to present news and policy related issues with an analytical bent so as to provoke and catalyse in human minds its most distinguished capability the power of thought.”
“The programme picks up themes of current relevance from policy and action in India and around the globe, and highlights them as they unravel within the vast dimensions of the country. Combining field reportage, with in-house studio based discussions with experts of national eminence, this is primarily an anchor based show,” he added.
The programme is informative and argument oriented, and aims to put across the views of experts as panelists, or connect interviews, and some amount of popular perceptions or opinions. The programme aims be to bring out the contrary positions and summarise the debate on the issue.
Das further said, “The topics for the show are mainly selected from amongst Government policy, economy, and polity, foreign affairs, current issues, literature and others, which fit in with the programme profile.”
