ZEE Network takes Zee Cine Awards to Dubai

ZEE Network is moving the Zee Cine Awards to Dubai this year. Confirms Yogesh Radhakrishnan, Business Head – Zee Cinema and Special Projects Manager, ZEE Network, “The Indian film industry is now a global phenomenon, with a fan base that extends not only to Indians, but to different nationalities. This is why we have decided to move the awards from India to Dubai – a truly cosmopolitan and international setting for this prestigious event.”

Held in association with Dubai Media City, the event will take place on February 26 before a live audience of over 8,000 people. “This will be the first time an Indian cinema awards event has been staged outside India and we are creating one of the biggest stages ever seen in the region,” says Radhakrishnan. Guests from all over the world are expected to attend, including leading dignitaries from India, USA, UK and Singapore. Over two hundred leading Indian film actors, producers, directors and musicians are expected to attend the event, which will feature live performances from Shahrukh Khan, Preity Zinta, Hrithik Roshan, Saif Ali Khan and Lara Dutta.

Details of pricing and tickets will be announced shortly. Is ZEE Network optimistic? “With Zee Cine awards 2004, we will be able to provide the impetus to the crossover of Indian cinema to global audiences and delight the Indian Diaspora with the grandest celebration of the Indian cinema,” asserts Radhakrishnan.
