Zee Media’s Sumit Awasthi headed to IBN7?

Veteran journalist Sumit Awasthi has put in his papers at Zee Media Corporation, it is learnt from industry sources. Awasthi had joined Zee Media as Resident Editor in October 2013 after a gap of 14 years, during which he had been with Aaj Tak and IBN7.

According to industry sources, Awasthi is likely to join IBN7 as Deputy Managing Editor. This would be his second stint with IBN7.

Awasthi could not be contacted for confirmation of his movement despite repeated attempts.

In his last assignment at Aaj Tak, he was Deputy Editor (Political) and a primetime anchor (‘Dastak’). In addition, he was also reporting on major assignments.
