Zee Kashmir telecast begins today

Zee Telefilms, is launching today an exclusive one-hour time band, Zee Kashmir on its highly popular Zee Punjabi channel. The exclusive time band would showcase the rich cultural traditions and heritage of Jammu and Kashmir as well as present the true mirror of everyday social and political life of its people.

"For long the voice of the people of Jammu and Kashmir has remained confined to the region. It is time to put it on the international platform. Zee Kashmir is a highly prestigious initiative from the Zee Network. It would not only cater to the cultural, social and political aspirations of the people of the region but also provide them with a global platform," said Subhash Chandra, Chairman, Zee Telefilms.

He added, "This is just the beginning. Slowly we would expand this time-band into a full fledged 24-hour channel."

Zee Kashmir would air everyday on Zee Punjabi between 6:00 pm and 7:00 pm. It would broadcast to viewers across Asia on this channel as well as Europe and USA on Alpha-ETC Punjabi channel. The entire programming will be sourced out from Jammu and Kashmir region with Zee Kashmir's strategic alliance with Take One TV of Jammu & Kashmir. Take One has already built two studios in Jammu with state-of-the-art equipments and facilities while a studio is under construction at Srinagar.

Devender Singh Rana, Managing Director of Take One TV, said, "It is a matter of pride and privilege for us to be taken in as a partner by Zee Network in this historic venture. We would be striving to present an honest and true mirror of the diversity of people, places and issues of Jammu, Kashmir and Laddakh region."

The programmes on Zee Kashmir are a mix of all genres. There are programmes like Campus Buzz, where the anchor will go to different schools, colleges, institutes and speak to the students about their life in general, fashion and music. Then there is Travel Guide wherein the anchor will take the viewers to a new place in the region every week.

Jhoom Ke Gao is a fun-filled interactive roadshow meant to entertain viewers from all age groups. During this half an hour show the team along with the camera goes out on the streets and meets people. Some other topical programmes will be Mohalledari, which will feature different areas in and around Jammu and Kashmir in each episode, Mudda, which is a discussion-based programme wherein experts talk about some of the latest, sensational and the common issues of the state.
