Zee gameshow Nilaamghar set for a revamp, shifts to Chandigarh

Zee TV's popular gameshow Nilaamghar hosted by Shekhar Suman is shifting to Chandigarh in a bid to cut down production costs and to sport a much bigger canvas.

According to Tarun Chopra, producer director of Nilaamghar, from this month the show is being planned on a much bigger scale, with the biggest ever live audience of 1500 - 2000 persons in the history of chat shows on Indian television. Currently, the primetime game show has a live audience of about 500 persons.

The new episodes of the game show will be shot at Dara Studios in Mohali on the outskirts of Chandigarh. A special outdoor set is being erected at the studios to accommodate the huge live audience. Earlier the show was being shot indoor. According to Chopra, besides improving the production values, the show makeover will help reduce the production costs.

It may be mentioned that earlier Chopra was forced to shift the shooting of Nilamghar from Mumbai to Film City Noida after he was made to pay up Rs. 40000 per episode as fee to Junior Artists Association for arrangingaudience.

Zee TV bosses are hopeful that the revamp of Neelamghar in terms of larger live audiences will not only add gloss to the show but also make it much more interactive, with a view to further push its TRP.
